As an active professional artist, I’ve experienced many of today’s art materials, but for my overall purposes, I find acrylic on canvas to be my most responsive and satisfying medium.

Living as I do on the shores of the beautiful Morro Bay Estuary, the ever changing cycles of migratory bird life and weather phenomena provide me an infinite source of inspiration, frequently appearing in many of my recent paintings. As an artist I cannot escape my past experiences of education, work and recreation, all of which have the power to find their way into the art that I produce. Although my love of drawing continues to be very important to me, my love of photography also has a profound influence on how I view the world to the extent that my painting skills are able, I try to celebrate the environment as my vision reveals it, and where possible, invest each painting with at least a subtle narrative content.
