Lavender Harvest | Oils | 18"x24"
Laurel grew up in Illinois, headed west after college and never looked back, putting down roots in rural Arroyo Grande 12 years ago.
With brush or palette knife and an unabashed usage of color, she captures passing moments of beauty, interplays of light, wind, time of day and season. She treasures painting on location, which provides opportunities for a complete absorption in the wild and beautiful places she loves.
Her passion for California shines through every one of her paintings. Her talent for creating perspective by the use of vivid color and light pulls you into her landscapes. You feel as if you are actually there in the same moment that she captured on the canvas. Her ability to create a scene of tranquil beauty, and then infuse it with an intense spiritual quality of life, sets Laurel apart from other artists.
Laurel’s paintings have been featured on the cover of SkyWest magazine and Vine Times, a magazine about California wine and wineries.
She belongs to San Luis Outdoor Painters for the Environment (SLOPE), California Art Club and American Impressionist Society.
