Joshua Sewell was born in Oxnard, California in the summer of 1982. He was immersed in photography at a young age while helping his father assist in the production of automotive and motorcycle calendars. Although, he did not pick up his own camera until the age of 19, he soaked up everything involved with commercial photography. After he started getting serious about photography he was accepted to Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. While at Brooks, Joshua realized a desire to travel, and upon graduation set out to photograph countless places in the United States, Europe, Mexico, and Costa Rica.
