Paige began painting circa 2008 as a way to heal the perfectionism she had recognized was a barrier to a more fulfilling life. Choosing water color because it's harder to control, seems to have a mind of it's own and isn't easy to go back and “fix” was in her mind, the way to practice letting go. Through this process she developed a style of letting the painting create itself, allowing the paint to mix on the paper, seeing where the paint wanted to go and relaxing into that. She will admit there are many paintings that end up in a drawer with this method! In recent years she has been exploring the relationship between creation and anxiety relief. For her, there is a direct correlation. She feels anxious, she paints, she feels better. She is also amazed that a less than desirable feeling can produce paintings that exhibit beauty and joy of the world around her. Perhaps it is the deeper reflection of the true nature of her spirit.
