Art in Public Places

General Information:

Our Art in Public Places (APP) committee helps implement countywide policies for public art, holds informational workshops for artists and assists the City of San Luis Obispo in commissioning and erecting public art projects.

This active group has been working behind the scenes for years to make public art a strong and viable program for SLO County. A few of the projects that ARTS Obispo’s APP program has directly assisted with are the permanent installations in the new County Government Center, Avila Beach, SLO Promenade, Old Town Arroyo Grande, Higuera St. Plaza and Tolosa Housing Development.

Our Visual Artists' Directory helps link developers, collectors and other interested people to artists. Contact the ARTS Obispo office for more information on this important program.

Interested in public art? Curious about the process? The Art in Public Places committee meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 2 p.m. in ARTS Space Obispo.
