Arti Gras is ARTS Obispo’s major annual fundraiser for Arts in Education. Our Arts in Education initiative currently supports the following programs in our schools:

• Poetry Out Loud (the local edition of the national recitation competition for high school students)

• Arts Curriculum Assistance (we teach elementary teachers how to include the arts in their lesson plans for math, science, history and other subjects)

• California State Summer School for the Arts (we help local students discover and enroll in this creative and challenging program)

• County Office of Education’s Countywide Writing Competition (this program was in danger of extinction in 2013 due to state budget cuts, until ARTS Obispo agreed to provide financial assistance and support to keep it going)
