David Kreitzer's sublime, meditative, and shining images of landscapes, florals, figures, and mid west images heal and warm the heart and mind. 

Born in Ord, Nebraska, Kreitzer has been painting professionally since 1967, starting with sold out shows at Maxwell Galleries in San Francisco.  David grew up as the son of a Lutheran minister who, due to his job, moved his family frequently throughout the Nebraska countryside. He has been shown by or has had solo shows in Gumps Gallery, Maxwell Galleries, and Wortsman-Stewart Galleries in San Francisco; Stary-Sheets Gallery and Ankrum Gallery in Southern California;  Summa Gallery in New York City; Runnings Gallery in Seattle; and Adele M. Gallery in Dallas.  His works are owned by corporations and private collectors, including Joseph Hirschhorn, Ray Bradbury, Mary Tyler Moore, Michael Douglas, The Howard Ahmansons, Billy Goldenburg, Cargill Corporation, Hind Corporation, Revlon Corporation, Barnes-Hind Corp. and Lloyd's Bank.

David Kreitzer’s works are in the permanent collections of the Santa Barbara Museum, the Joslyn Museum in Omaha, Nebraska, the Bakersfield Museum, and the Hirshhorn Foundation in Washington, D.C.   Mr. Kreitzer executed two covers for Atlantic Magazine, and was featured artist in American Artist Magazine and the book "The Sacred Landscape.”   He has been listed for many years in "Who's Who in American Art," "Who's Who in California," and "Who's Who in America."    His "Tristan and Isolde" and "Siegfried" posters, commissioned by Seattle Opera in 1981, are still collected worldwide.

David Kreitzer resides on the California coast with his wife, opera singer and Jacalyn Kreitzer.  His son Anatol is a professor of neuro-biology at the Gladstone Institute. David and Jacalyn’s daughter Frederica works for Mann Consulting in San Francisco.
